Getting started
Do you speak English?
Yes. You can talk to me in English by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail, and I explain the fault, the price and the repair in English too. Invoices and repair protocols are issued in Czech, I am happy to explain anything in them.
Where can I bring my laptop?
I have two branches: Šmeralova 933/24, Prague 7 – Letná and Podolská 423/20, Prague 4 – Podolí. By arrangement I can also take over your device next to metro B Nové Butovice (Na Zlatě 1, Prague 13), at Wenceslas Square 3 (metro Můstek) or pick it up anywhere in Prague. See the contact page for maps.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 8:00–21:00, weekends by arrangement. I am often out on a job, so please always call or send a WhatsApp message before you come – I will make sure to be there.
Which devices do you repair?
Laptops, desktop PCs, all-in-one computers and tablets of all brands – Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus, Acer, Apple MacBook, MSI and others. I do not repair mobile phones.
Prices and payment
How much does the diagnostics cost?
Diagnostics is free if you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to repair the device after hearing the price, you pay a flat fee of 600 CZK for the work spent on testing and checking parts.
Will I know the price in advance?
Yes. After the diagnostics I call you, explain the cause of the fault, the solution, the price and the date. I only start the repair after you agree – nothing paid is done without your consent.
What are typical repair prices?
Labour prices including VAT: screen replacement from 1,590 CZK, battery replacement from 890 CZK, keyboard or hinge repair from 990 CZK, liquid damage repair from 990 CZK, cooling cleaning with new thermal paste from 790 CZK, Windows reinstallation from 1,200 CZK. Parts (screen, battery, keyboard) are added according to your model. An SSD upgrade with system and data transfer costs from 1,490 CZK including a standard SSD. Hourly rate: 600 CZK in the shop, 900 CZK on site. Full price list (in Czech).
How can I pay?
In cash, by card or by bank transfer when you collect the device. I am a VAT payer and issue a tax invoice to companies.
Repairs and data
How long does a repair take?
If the parts are in stock, common repairs (screen, battery, cleaning, reinstallation) usually take 1–3 working days, motherboard repairs 2–5 days. Ordering parts can make it longer – I always tell you the expected date in advance. Express service is available for an extra 100 % of the hourly rate.
I spilled liquid on my laptop. What should I do?
Switch it off immediately, unplug the charger and do not turn it on again, not even to check it. Do not dry it with a hair dryer. Bring it to me as soon as possible – the sooner the board is cleaned, the higher the chance of saving it and your data.
Can you recover data from a laptop that does not turn on?
In most cases yes. If the disk can be removed, I copy the data to your external drive. On models with memory soldered to the board (MacBooks and many thin laptops) I first repair the board and then back up the data. I also recover deleted files and data from damaged SSD or HDD drives.
Is my personal data safe during the repair?
Yes. I work with your files only as much as the repair requires and never copy or share them. If you prefer, you can remove sensitive data or give me the device without the password – I will tell you whether the repair needs it.
Do you repair motherboards?
Yes. I repair at component level – I replace or repair individual parts on the motherboard instead of replacing the whole board. That is why repairs are often considerably cheaper than in authorised service centres.
What warranty do I get?
I am liable for defects of new parts and of the repair within the statutory period under Czech law. If anything goes wrong, just contact me.
Can you prepare documents for an insurance claim?
Yes. After the diagnostics I prepare a written report describing the damage, its cause and the repair price, which you can submit to your insurance company. More on the insurance claims page (in Czech).
